 In recent years\, the holographic correspondence has been used in many con
 texts\nto explore properties of strongly coupled systems that are hard to 
 explain\nby conventional methods. One instance of such systems is given by
  the high-T superconductors\,\nwhich exhibit non-Fermi liquid behavior in 
 the so-called "strange metal" phase above the critical temperature.\nI wil
 l discuss the holographic constructions of these systems\,\nand in particu
 lar a model that I and my collaborators are currently investigating\,\nbas
 ed on a semi-holographic approach. I will discuss the results for the tran
 sport properties\,  in particular\nI will show that under certain conditio
 ns an emergent linear-in-T behavior\nof the longitudinal resistivity appea
 rs over a significant range of temperatures.\n
