">Gravitational and Phenomenological Properties of Early Universe Defects<
/a>\nby Yu Komiya (Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics\, Kyoto Univer
sity) as part of Europe and Pacific Theoretical Physics\n\n\nAbstract\nThe
early universe is predicted to have witnessed a range of symmetry breakin
g and phase transitions. These processes can be studied via the objects an
d signals they may produce. In this talk\, we will focus on topological de
fects formed by symmetry breaking\, discuss the final states they may give
rise to\, and consider the possibility of detection from a combination of
phenomenological and cosmological perspectives. In particular\, we introd
uce a composite defect that may form in an axionic cosmology\, and investi
gate resulting alternatives to the standard picture in the face of unique
 interactions.\n
