DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/ESME/70/">Ge
nerative Questions About Generative AI in Math Learning</a>\nby Dan Meyer
(Amplify) as part of Online Seminar On Undergraduate Mathematics Education
 \n\nInteractive livestream: https://cornell.zoom.us/j/92415199317\n\nAbstr
act\nWe are four years into the generative AI era and we can confidently s
ay: (1) it is the most novel new technology of the last two decades\, (2)
it has fallen well short of expectations in education. Teacher usage remai
ns lower than predicted. Schools operate identically now as years ago. Gen
erative AI’s greatest contribution to education\, so far\, is the genera
tion of important questions about the capacities of the technology\, the n
eeds of students\, and the nature of teaching. We will discuss several of
 those questions in this session.\n
