 n of the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis (the p-canonical basis) and the correspondi
 ng p-cells have been defined. However\, the description is very chaotic an
 d not much is known. We report on some recent progress towards a better un
 derstanding\, focusing on the subregular and submaximal cells. This is joi
 nt work with V. Miemietz and D. Tubbenhauer.\n
