DESCRIPTION:Title: On
uplift conditions for gauged supergravities\nby Gianluca Inverso (Quee
n Mary U. of London and INFN sez. di Padova) as part of Exceptional geomet
ry seminar series\n\n\nAbstract\nSupergravity theories can be consistently
truncated to lower dimensional gauged supergravities\, which has many app
lications especially for the purpose of solution generation. A much studie
d class of truncations are generalised Scherk–Schwarz (gSS) reductions.
While the principle of such truncations is well-understood and many exampl
es are known\, there is no complete classification of gSS reductions. Conv
ersely\, it can be difficult to know if a specific gauged supergravity can
arise from a generalised Scherk–Schwarz truncation of some higher-dimen
sional model.\nI will review some results on the general recipe for constr
ucting generalised Scherk–Schwarz uplifts of gauged supergravities and o
n the conditions for such uplifts to exist. I will then discuss work in pr
ogress in rephrasing such uplift conditions as linear constraints and comm
ent on the extension to three-dimensional gauged supergravities and lower\
, where the associated exceptional geometries become more complicated.\n
