DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/EASW/1/">1+1
d adjoint QCD and non-invertible topological lines</a>\nby Kantaro Ohmori
(Simons Center for Geometry and Physics) as part of East Asian String Webi
nars\n\n\nAbstract\nIn ‘90s\, it is claimed that the QCD with massless a
djoint quark in 1+1-dimensions is confined\, although naively the fermions
cannot screen the Wilson line in the fundamental representation. In this
talk\, we will see that the confinement can be explained from the topologi
cal line operators live in the theory. In particular\, non-invertible topo
logical lines\, which do not correspond to a symmetry\, play a crucial rol
 e. Based on a ongoing work with Zohar Komargodski\, Konstantinos Roumpedak
 is and Sahand Seifnashri.\n
