DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/CCTP_HEP/53/
">Holographic cosmology and the origin of time</a>\nby Kostas Skenderis (S
outhampton) as part of CCTP HEP Seminars\n\n\nAbstract\nHolographic cosmol
ogy is a new framework for the very early universe\, the period usually as
sociated with inflation. In holographic cosmology the early Universe is de
scribed by a three dimensional QFT\, and cosmological evolution is mapped
to inverse RG flow. In this talk\, I will provide an overview of holograph
ic cosmology and then discuss recent work where lattice QFT methods are us
ed to compute the relevant QFT observables. In particular\, I will discuss
the IR structure of the dual QFT\, which is linked to the initial singula
rity in cosmology\, and show how non-perturbative dynamics resolve the IR
singularities present in perturbation theory\, thus providing a holographi
c resolution of the Big Bang singularity.\n
