DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/AmSurAmSulGe
ometry/113/">Hermitian curvature flow and HKT geometry</a>\nby Beatrice Br
ienza (IMPA) as part of Geometry Webinar AmSur /AmSul\n\n\nAbstract\nWe in
troduce a Hermitian curvature flow that preserves HKT geometry and whose f
ixed points are HKT–Einstein metrics. This flow is strictly related to t
he quaternionic Monge–Ampère equation. We develop a basic regularity th
eory and establish a monotonicity formula for the Chern scalar curvature.
We then formulate a conjecture characterizing the maximal existence time a
nd prove a conditional version of it\; in real dimension four\, we establi
sh the conjecture unconditionally. Finally\, we construct a divergent sequ
ence of HKT–Einstein metrics on quaternionic Hopf surfaces. These provid
e the first non-homogeneous examples of HKT–Einstein metrics in the lite
rature and highlight the subtlety of the long-time convergence problem. Th
is is a joint paper with J. Streets.\n
