lexandros Eskenazis (Sorbonne University\, Paris) as part of ISI Bangalore
Stat-Math Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nWe will present a complete proof of the
dimensional Brunn-Minkowski inequality for origin symmetric convex sets in
Gauss space. This settles a problem raised by Gardner and Zvavitch (2010)
. The talk is based on joint work with G. Moschidis.\n

ties of the graph\, hence the name talented. We show a connection between
the geometry of the graph and the structure of the talented monoid associa
ted to it.\nThis monoid is also closely related to the structure of Leavit

R Mohali) as part of ISI Bangalore Stat-Math Seminar\n\n\nAbstract\nStudy
of certain isotopy classes of a finite collection of immersed circles with
out triple or higher intersections on closed oriented surfaces can be thou
ght of as a planar analogue of virtual knot theory where the genus zero ca
se corresponds to classical knot theory. It is intriguing to know which cl
ass of groups serves the purpose that Artin braid groups serve in classica
l knot theory. Mikhail Khovanov proved that twin groups\, a class of right
angled Coxeter groups with only far commutativity relations\, do the job
for genus zero case. A recent work shows that an appropriate class of grou
ps called virtual twin groups fits into the theory for higher genus cases.
The talk would give an overview of some recent developments along these l
 ines.\n

n\nThere has been recently a resurgence of interest for singular foliation
 s. This is partly due to the recent results of Lavau/Laurent-Gengoux/Strob
l (L-L-G-S) which enable to use homotopy Lie algebroids to study such foli
ations.\n\nIn this talk I will present a joint work with Rigel Juarez whic
h enables to recover results similar to those of L-L-G-S as corollaries o
f the existence of semi-model category structure on the category of homoto
 py Lie-Rinehart algebras.\n

ar\n\n\nAbstract\nIn this talk\, I will present several universality princ
iples concerned with zero\ndistribution of random polynomials. In one dire
 ction\, universality phenomenon\nindicates that under natural assumptions\
, asymptotic distribution of (appropriately\nnormalized) zeros of random p
olynomials is independent of the choice of probability\nlaw defined on ran
dom polynomials. Another form of universality is asymptotic\nnormality of
smooth linear statistics of zero currents. Finally\, if time permits\, I\n
will also describe some recent results on universality of scaling limits o
 f correlations\nbetween simultaneous zeros of random polynomials.\n

ar/17/">On the minimization of general types of Riesz-like energies.</a>\n
by Aldo Pratelli (University of Pisa) as part of ISI Bangalore Stat-Math S
eminar\n\n\nAbstract\nThere is recently a deep interest on several questio
ns about \nminimization of various types of energies which show the \nattr
action-repulsion effect\, that is\, particles are attracting with each \no
ther if far away\, but repulsing each other if too close. One of the \nfir
st physical models of this kind is the celebrated liquid drop model \nby G
amow (1930)\, but a huge number of generalisations have been now \nconside
red. There are many natural problems to be studied\, and despite a \nhuge
effort by several authors in the decades\, some of the most \nimportant ar
e still open. In this seminar\, we will give an overall view \nof some of
the main known properties and open problems\, starting with \nresults whic
h are nowadays classical\, and ending with some very recent \nones.\n
