/1/">On the Quantization of Seiberg-Witten Geometry</a>\nby Nathan Haouzi
(Simons Center for Geometry and Physics) as part of SCGP Zoom Physics Semi
 nar\n\n\nAbstract\nWe propose a double quantization of four-dimensional N=
2 Seiberg-Witten geometry\, for all classical gauge groups and a wide vari
ety of matter content. This can be understood as a set of certain non-pert
urbative Schwinger-Dyson identities\, following the program initiated in [
arXiv:1512.05388]. The construction relies on the computation of the insta
nton partition function of the gauge theory on the so-called Omega-backgro
und on R^4\, in the presence of half-BPS codimension 4 defects. The two qu
antization parameters are identified as the two parameters of this backgro
und. The Seiberg-Witten curve of the theory is recovered in the flat space
limit. If time permits\, we will explain how to derive some of our result
s from type IIA string theory.\n

/2/">The supersymmetric Cardy formula from effective actions</a>\nby Marti
n Fluder (Princeton University) as part of SCGP Zoom Physics Seminar\n\n\n
Abstract\nIn this talk\, I will discuss supersymmetric Cardy formulae in d
=4 and d=6. These formulae govern the universal behavior in the high-tempe
rature regime of supersymmetric partition functions — or\, in the case o
f the superconformal index\, they govern the high-energy asymptotics of SU
SY operators at large energy. I will outline the proof of the 6d and 4d Ca
rdy formulae for theories with moduli spaces of vacua\, which relies on an
effective supersymmetric Chern-Simons action in 5d and 3d\, respectively.
I will argue that this effective action is universal and intimately relat
ed to perturbative as well as global gravitational anomalies. Finally\, I
will discuss some immediate consequences of our results and briefly compar
e and distinguish our results to other (more recent) proposals for Cardy f
 ormulae.\n
