DESCRIPTION:Title: <a href="https://researchseminars.org/talk/QuantInfoSem
/1/">Quantum synchronization in nanoscale heat engines</a>\nby Sai Vinjana
mpathy (IIT Bombay) as part of Albanova Quantum Information Seminar\n\n\nA
bstract\nSynchronisation involves the adjustment of rhythms of interacting
classical or quantum systems. In this talk\, I will discuss nanoscale he
at engines are a natural platform to study quantum synchronization and sho
w that they always possess a stable limit cycle. Furthermore\, I will disc
uss an intimate relationship between the power of a coherently driven heat
engine and its phase-locking properties by proving that synchronization p
laces an upper bound on the achievable steady-state power of the engine. S
uch an engine exhibits finite steady-state power if and only if its synchr
onization measure is nonzero. Finally\, I will show that the efficiency of
the engine sets a point in terms of the bath temperatures where synchroni
zation vanishes. Relationship to a resource theoretic measure of coherence
  will also be discussed.\n
