lysis/1/">Higher order Schwarzian derivatives as multipliers between Bergm
an spaces</a>\nby Juan J. Donaire (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona) as p
 art of Seminari d'anàlisi de Barcelona\n\n\nAbstract\nIf $f :\\mathbb D \
\to C$ is locally univalent\, the Schwarzian derivative is defined as\n\n$
 $ \n\\mathcal S(f) = \\left( \\frac{f''}{f'} \\right)' - \\frac 1 2 \\left
 ( \\frac{f''}{f'} \\right)^2 \n$$\n\nIf $f$ is univalent\, this operator i
s conformally invariant and has a growth given by\n\n$$\n(1-|z|^2)^2|\\mat
 hcal S(f)| \\le 6\, z \\in \\mathbb D\n$$\n\nIn this talk\, we shall find
higher order derivatives of this type and we shall obtain estimates on the
norm of the operator between Bergman spaces consisting in the pointwise m
ultiplication by these derivatives.\nAs an application\, we shall obtain i
nformation on the growth of the integral means of derivatives of conformal
  maps.\n

Abstract\nI review some classical estimates in constructive approximation
involving measures of smoothness of functions and their best approximation
s as well as needed polynomial inequalities. I discuss known and new findi

als) for univariate polynomials with complex coefficients. We will sketch
the proof that is based on some connections between minimizers of the disc
rete logarithmic energy on the unit sphere of dimension 2 and univariate p
olynomials with optimal condition number in the Shub-Smale sense.\n

 Seminari d'anàlisi de Barcelona\n\n\nAbstract\nPicards (little) theorem i
s one of the most striking results\, if not the most\, of classical Comple
x Analysis. Since Picards original proof\, a great variety of approaches\,
generalizations\, reinterpretations and\nsurprising links with other area
s have contributed to enrich the scope of Geometric Function Theory.\nIn t
he talk we will report several variations on Picards theorem\, with specia
l emphasis on its real\nformulation. In this last direction\, we will disc
uss a recent extension in terms of the range of harmonic\nmaps in the plan
 e.\n

pschitz domains with small constant</a>\nby Xavier Tolsa (ICREA-Universita
t Autònoma de Barcelona) as part of Seminari d'anàlisi de Barcelona\n\n\
nAbstract\nIn a work from 1991 Fang-Hua Lin asked the following question.
 Let $\\Omega\\subset R^n$ be a Lipschitz domain.\nLet $u$ be a function ha
rmonic in $\\Omega$ and continuous in $\\overline\\Omega$ which vanishes i
 n a relatively open subset $\\Sigma \\subset \\partial\\Omega$ and moreove
r assume that the normal derivative $\\partial_\\nu u$ vanishes in a subse
t of $\\Sigma$ with positive surface measure. Is it true that then $u$ is
identically zero? Up to now\, the answer was known to be positive for $C^1
 $-Dini domains by results of Adolfsson-Escauriaza (1997) and Kukavica-Nyst
r¨om (1998). In this talk I will explain a recent work where I show that
the result also holds for Lipschitz domains with small Lipschitz constant
\, and thus in particular for general $C^1$ domains.\n
