1/">BPS invariant from non Archimedean integrals</a>\nby Francesca Carocci
(EPFL Institute of Mathematics) as part of BPS workshop\n\n\nAbstract\nWe
consider moduli spaces M(ß\,χ) of one-dimensional semistable sheaves o
n del Pezzo and K3 surfaces supported on ample curve classes. \n\nWorking
over a non-archimedean local field F\, we define a natural measure on the
F-points of such moduli spaces. We prove that the integral of a certain na
turally defined gerbe on M(ß\,χ) with respect to this measure is indepen
dent of the Euler characteristic.\n\nAnalogous statements hold for (meromo
rphic or not) Higgs bundles.\n\nRecent results of Maulik-Shen and Kinjo-Ko
seki imply that these integrals compute the BPS invariants for the del Pez
zo case and for Higgs bundles.\n\nThis is a joint work with Giulio Orecchi
 a and Dimitri Wyss.\n

 2/">Cohomological χ-independence for Gopakumar-Vafa invariants of local c
urves</a>\nby Naoki Koseki (University of Edinburgh) as part of BPS worksh
op\n\n\nAbstract\nMaulik and Toda recently gave a mathematical definition
of Gopakumar-Vafa(GV) invariants (a.k.a. BPS invariants) for Calabi-Yau th
reefolds. The GV invariants are expected to be equivalent to other curve c
ounting theories such as Gromov-Witten theory (GW=GV conjecture). One of t
he mysterious features of GV invariants is their χ-independence\, which s
hould be true assuming GW=GV conjecture.\n\nI will explain my joint work w
ith Tasuki Kinjo (Tokyo)\, where we proved the χ-independence for GV inva
riants on certain class of non-compact Calabi-Yau threefolds which we call
local curves. I will also explain applications to Higgs bundles.\n
