 inar\n\n\nAbstract\nIn this talk\, I will introduce some notions and resul
 ts on symplectic geometry and their applications to classical mechanics. A
 lthough omitting technical proofs\, I will explain the main ideas and resu
 lts about this theory and its applications. In detail\, I will comment on 
 the definition of symplectic manifolds\, Hamiltonian vector fields and fun
 ctions\, Poisson brackets\, momentum maps\, and the Marsden-Weinstein theo
 rem. More physically\, I will explain how these structures explain the Ham
 ilton equations of a classical mechanical system and how they are used to 
 study systems with symmetries.\n
